PLACE is a two-year Confirmation Program designed to help our students find their PLACE (Passionately Living As Catholics Everyday) with Christ and within the Church Community.
Through various learning opportunities, our young Parishioners will engage in activities that exemplify the life of active Catholics--living out the corporal and spiritual works of mercy, participation in the Mass, partaking of the Sacraments, as well as growing in their faith formation. Our mission is to meet each Confirmandi where they are in their faith formation journey and provide them with experiences that will allow them to move along in their faith journey, meet Jesus in their daily lives, and find their PLACE.
Our program this year consists of four components:
-
Core essentials - speakers, discussions, and events that each student will participate in.
-
Workshops - students will customize their faith formation journey by selecting at least 3 of more than a dozen interactive workshops presented throughout the year.
-
Service projects - all vaccinated students will spend a Saturday morning helping at Loaves and Fishes in New Haven, participate in a service project with their class, and take part in an evening of service in March
-
Family Faith Adventure - faith formation is a family affair and these events are opportunities for students, parents, and sponsors to learn more about the faith they share.
As of today, we are planning on meeting in person for the 2021-2022 year. We will follow CDC and state guidelines, including those of the Archdiocese of Hartford.
As in past years, communications with our students and families will be via email and this web site (under the News and Student headings). When registering, please include student and parent emails that are checked often.
