The Columbus House in New Haven needs our HELP!

Ms. Carrigan's 1st-year Confirmation Class will be collecting snack food items for people experiencing homelessness at Columbus House located in New Haven. Over 255 clients at both the main and overflow shelter are currently staying in various hotels in New Haven, Middletown, and New London due to the pandemic. These temporary accommodations are the best way to keep clients safe and socially distant. The clients are encouraged to stay in their hotel rooms as much as possible to limit their exposure risk to COVID. We can make a difference and cheer them up with a contribution of a snack item(s).

  • Donations can be dropped off at the Parish Center from Monday, February 22 through Thursday, February 25 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm in the designated bins in the lobby.

  • Also, a “Drive-Thru” drop off will take place at St. Margaret’s Church parking lot on Saturday, February 27 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Please drop off your snack item(s) at the church BACK parking lot. Ms. Carrigan’s Confirmation class will be available outside to meet you in your car to collect the snack item(s).

Here is the list of snack items recommended by the Columbus House Volunteer Director: Granola Bars Pretzels Popcorn Snack Crackers Trail Mix Cookies Breakfast Bars Fruit Cups Pudding Cups Or any other snack item of your choosing PLEASE MAKE SURE THE SNACKS ARE INDIVIDUALLY WRAPPED! Thank you in advance for your participation in this worthwhile service project! For more information, contact: Jackie Carrigan - jackiecarrigan@gmail.com
